Who is this Jamin guy anyway?
I am the husband of one and the father of nine. I was created to sing, to worship, to encourage, and to be steady. I am the Owner & Executive Director of Trinity Arts Center, a multi-disciplinary Arts Center in Eastern Tennessee, and the President of Trinity Arts Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization focused on funding arts education and performance. I've been involved with four music projects in my life -- Hot Pink Turtle, Spin Radio, Stand Like Stone, and of course, Jamin Rathbun.

Shut up and listen at lockjawradio.com

My buddy Jose Castillo linked to me yesterday so... I figured I'd return the favor with a link to the Lockjaw Radio podcast that he does with Thomas Eorgan. He also has some pretty insightful stuff on his personal website, thinkjose.com. Both of them are worth a look if you have any interest in marketing, the internet, communication, or tech news. Definitely don't miss Lockjaw's weekly brand-to-brand combat, sure to warm the cockles of your heart (whatever that means).

I got an email from an old friend today asking what happened to some of the other songs from last year. I intended to spread them out over a few days but -- per his request, I've just resurrected the remaining three mp3's today, along with the ones I've posted previously. I suppose this means I have to get to work on some new stuff now eh? (thanks a lot Michael). = )

Song Title: I Will Proclaim the Name of the Lord - [ download mp3 ]
Genre: Christian Contemporary, Worship, Piano, Vocal
File Size: 5.8MB

Notes: Another worship song for piano taken from Deuteronomy 32:4-5. The song was written with the intention of recording it as a gospel song ala Kirk Franklin (if you can imagine the big gospel choir singing "He Is The Rock") but -- I'm not a good enough piano player to pull that off. My wife likes it this way -- hopefully you will too. = )

Lyrics: I will proclaim the name of the Lord oh praise the greatness of our God. He is the Rock. His works are perfect and all His ways are just. A faithful God who does no wrong -- upright and just is He.

Song Title: I'll Carry On - [ download mp3 ]
Genre: Christian Contemporary, Worship, Acoustic Guitar, Vocal
File Size: 7.4MB

Notes: This is an acoustic guitar song taken from 2 Corinthians 4:13-18. Forgive the hokey-ness of the drums and the less-than-stellar guitar solo -- I'm learning as I go. = ) Regardless, I hope it doesn't put you to sleep. I've got some more uptempo stuff I'm working on for the next couple weeks.

Lyrics: It is written I believe, and believing I will speak. I'll carry on. For the One who conquers death and the One who gives new life, I'll carry on. And I never will lose heart though outside I waste away, 'cause inside I am renewed. I'll carry on.

Song Title: Light The Fire - [ download mp3 ]
Genre: Christian Contemporary, Worship, Acoustic Guitar, Vocal
File Size: 5.8MB

Notes: An acoustic guitar song written with teens in mind, specifically -- as a church camp theme song. It's that final thought before you go back home -- to "light the fire" as you go back to school and not let this new excitement and resolve fade away and be forgotten.

Lyrics: Light the fire. Fan the flame in your heart, don't ever let it fade. Now's the time we can change our world. Here and now. Here in prayer on our knees, with His Word in our hearts. Now it starts, we light the fire. I won't run and I won't hide. I won't go back to the things I left behind. I will go into my world and share with them His promise. I will never let the flame in my heart fade. I'll light the fire. It's quiet now and eyes are closed. All I pray is that lives are changed.

Song Title: Come - [ download mp3 ]
Genre: Adult Contemporary, Worship, Piano, Vocal
File Size: 8.3MB

Notes: This is essentially a musical "alter call" that I took from Revelation 22:17. Initially, I had intended for this to be part of my new worship material but -- I'm not sure how sing-along-able it is. Regardless, I like this one quite a bit, especially the simple piano melody at the end.

Lyrics: The Spirit and the Bride say come. Let him who hears say come. Let he who is thirsty, let him come. And whoever wishes, let him take the water of life. Jesus, come and rain upon our land. Israel, come home. Jesus, come and reign here in our hearts. Israel, come home.

Song Title: Stand - [ download mp3 ]
Genre: Christian Rock, Full Band
File Size: 7.1MB

Notes: This is one of the songs I wrote with Stand Like Stone, the rock project I began in St. Louis with Jason, Eric, and Dan. It is loosely inspired by Titus 2:7-8, Hebrews 10:23-25, & Ephesians 6:10-18. This recording is a live rehearsal of the song with minimal equipment and no overdubs so it's very basic and rough but -- you'll get the idea. Notice the digital "glitch" that we added towards the end to add to the "raw power" of the song. Just kidding. = )

Lyrics: Stand and be counted for what you believe. Walk without turning for He who has promised is faithful and He loves you. Pray without stopping and serve every need. Fight every battle, defending the good that you see. Let it all begin tonight. I'm tired of ordinary. Time to lay it on the line. Time to stand.

I got caught up with some work stuff last night (and exercising with my kids) so... I'll post my testimony tomorrow.
